Great Film: Battle for Brooklyn

The differences between Brooklyn and Lansing are obvious, but it might be worthwhile to try to catch this amazing award-winning film.

Watch the trailer:

The film Battle for Brooklyn:

is an intimate look at the very public and passionate fight waged by residents and business owners of Brooklyn’s historic Prospect Heights neighborhood facing condemnation of their property to make way for the polarizing Atlantic Yards project, a massive plan to build 16 skyscrapers and a basketball arena for the New Jersey Nets.

Has anyone seen it? What are your thoughts?

We need to save our precious green space. Our village representatives are not doing their due diligence to fully identify the alternatives to this development. This is corporate welfare and we the Village tax payers will be subsidizing NRP (an Ohio based corporation) so they make millions.
