What You Can Do

1. Leave a comment on this site expressing your concerns/opposition to this development (comments are monitored).

2. Write to the state right away,  as the decision for funding will be made this month (June). You should write a brief letter stating that you oppose the NRP Group Lansing Reserve proposal (you may email your letter to Dan Buyer, dbuyer@nyshcr.org). This is a sample letter:

Mr. Darryl Towns, Commissioner, CEO
NYS Homes and Community Renewal
c/o Mr. Daniel Buyer
Assistant Commissioner for Regional Affairs (Syracuse)
Assistant Commissioner, Weatherization Assistance Program

RE. NRP Group Lansing Reserve tax credit application

 Dear Mr. Towns,

We, the Village of Lansing residents, respectfully request that the NYS Homes and Community Renewal deny the request for the tax credit for the NRP Group Lansing reserve application. This proposed development has no basis as there is no market need, the approval process will take years, and as residents, we will ensure we will protect our precious wetlands and endangered wildlife that exist on or near this proposed site. A longer, more in depth letter, was sent to your office back in February, 2011, that outlines all our concerns and the fact that the application submitted by the NRP group was full of inaccurate and misleading information.

2 responses to “What You Can Do

  1. Tell NRP in CLEVELAND to leave ITHACA alone.

  2. I have been scanning the 5 proposals that were discussed at the past village meeting. I have the first one complete and can send e-mail it out if I have a contact.
